This paper is an attempt to answer some criticisms concerning my last study, "A Study on Criteria for Evaluating Picture Books -On Picture-". It contains three major issues. In "The Purpose of searching for Criteria", I described that many appraisers evaluated with an eye for impressionistic criticism, and recently it is the general trend of cvaluation of picture books. Today, this trend caused some secondary problems. I think these are problems that can be solved, if the evaluation of picture books is done on the basis of clear and accurate criteria. In "Objectivity on Evaluation of Picture Books", I introduced opinions of two scholars, Kiyomi Shibuya and Okiko Miake who had negative judgments on the evaluation on picture books and criteria for evaluating them. To them, I opposed the two view on the basis of L.H.Smith's idea. I want to further her idea on the following. One is to evaluate picture books based on "a viewpoint of children", and the other is to recognize objectivity on evaluation which is looked at from the point of view of children. In "The Reople who can evaluate Picture Books", I introduced opinions of two scholars, Tadashi Matsui and Shin Torigoe. Matsui considered picture books to be a holisticart of fine arts and literature. He talked about the method of evaluation based on the specialities about them. Torigoe advised us to use the criteria drawn from the experience of reading many picuture books. Their methods have difficult problems to use. My method is to use "a viewpoint of children". I think everybody can evaluate picture books, if he use it. In my last study, I proposed three ways of liiking at pictures with these fundamental points in mind. Similarly, in my future research, I hope to find out critria for illustration.
