The void fraction of a vertical upward two-phase flow of sodium-argon was measured using two electromagnetic flowmeters and a γ-ray attenuation measuring equipment. It was shown that the statistical error of the void fraction measured by γ-ray attenuation method was larger than that by the electromagnetic flowmeters method when the gas flow rate was small(probably bubbly flow), but the void fraction measured by the electromagnetic flowmeter method indicated unreasonable values when the gas flow rate was large (probably slug flow). Heat transfer measurements were also made with sodium-argon two-phase flow and uniform heat flux. The results were compared with the heat transfer coefficient for sodium in single-phase flow. The injection of gas caused the heat transfer coefficient in two-phase flow to decrease from its value for sodium in single-phase flow, Further increase in the gas flow rate resulted, after passing a minimum, in a further increase of the heat transfer coefficient,
