The traditional crafting industry has been decaying in many areas due to the changes in the lifestyle and introduction of disposable items associated with mass-production and mass-consumption. As a result, it has caused serious problems on devolution of technology and regional employment. Therefore, I required some attention to the industry. However, we believe that it would be a good model for companies involved in traditional crafting industry that a company has established a new market by utilizing the traditional techniques, leading to revitalization of the area. At first, I review the history of Hakuhodo Co., Ltd (now we call "Hakuhodo") and the problems witch company faced during the establishment. Second, the development process of keshofude (cosmetic brush) and the evolution of distribution channels which helped to overcome the problems are presented. An approach to the market without cost competition, customers and utility of products and establishment of the market are reviewed. Third, the management philosophy of small and medium sized enterprises grows constantly, not for scale expansion and short-term profit, is reviewed.
