This paper examines the distribution of Shinto shrines in Kagawa prefecture. "The Kamo Shrines" are mainly distributed over the areas of ancient manors owned by "the Kamo Shrines," the areas of the ancient ports along the shore, and on the islands. These facts imply that a part of the spirit of deities was conveyed through the sea to be enshrined. "The Kumano Shrine," "the Suwa Shrine," and "the Ishizuchi Shrine" tend to be distributed along the roads running from south to north in Kagawa prefecture, and many of these shrines are also found in the mountains. These facts imply the spirits of the deities of these shrines were partially conveyed and enshrined crossing the pass of the mountains in southern part of the prefecture. "The Suwa Shrine" seems to be worshiped as a "military god."
