In this paper, a vertical horizontal linear polarization switching controllable microstrip patch antenna is proposed. In order to realize the switching function, four switching diodes are loaded on the middles of the edges of the square patch. FDTD method is used for the simulation of the antenna. The basic behavior of the antenna is investigated experimentally For the proposed antenna structure, the linear polarization switching control of the antenna is successfully achieved experimentally and theoretically.
