This paper examined the psychological support in university student counseling to students who were experiencing difficulties in interpersonal relationships. Their complaints revealed that they were prepossessed with how they were perceived, thus conforming to others without autonomy. Since these students behaved similarly during counseling sessions, the counselor needed to be sensitive to what s/he noticed and convey it to the student. At first, the student might have been confused by this disagreement between themselves and the counselor. However, it has been shown that the student can seek adaptation by consciously exhibiting their confusion to the counselor as an autonomous being.
