This paper investigates the day-to-day lifestyle of non-Japanese students at the faculty of engineering and graduate school of engineering in Yamagata University. The survey involved filling out a time table covering 1 week about a range of activities, the people they had contact with and the language they used. The results showed that the number of hours non-Japanese students spend sleeping was comparable to that of Japanese students. Non-Japanese students spend time doing experiments or at seminars mostly from 15:00 with a peak time of 18:00. This shows that special events concerning the support or education for the students should not take place during that time. Regarding the people non-Japanese students have contact with, the contact network is small for most and contact is mainly with people on campus. 39.5% of students have a day or more a week then they do not talk to anyone at all. Although Japanese is basically the language used among non-Japanese students at the university, those who live with their family have a tendency to spend more time communicating in their mother tongue than in Japanese. キーワード:生活時間、生活行動、行為者率、時間帯、接触者、使用言語
