The purpose of this research was to examine the correlation between the parent'sattitude toward child rearing and the aggressiveness in adolescence. 182 undergraduatesrated their parent's child rearing behavior and their own aggressiveness using twoquestionnaires. A factor analysis was conducted based on questionnaire ratings, and eightfactors (observed variables) were extracted. Additionally, a covariance structure analysisand an analysis of variance were conducted.The main findings were as follows:(1) Parental rearing behavior had a strong effect on aggressiveness in adolescence.(2) Effects on aggressiveness were particularly marked for suspicion and aggressiontowards others.
