The author has undertaken to investigate of the streptococcal allergy useing 35 rabbits. Streptococci as the antigen were repeatedly frozen and melted away, and finally dried for storage. A solution suspended with this antigen were successively injected into the aural veins of the animals resulting as follows: (1) Five cases of diffuse glomerulonephritis and. more plenty cases of so-called glomerulonephrosis by Fahr were observed. And this glomerulonephrosis might be contributed to the soluible antigen from the bacterial body dealt with fleezing and melting, and en passant these histological features are quite resemble to those of experimentally produced glomerulonephritis by horse serum or human eclamptic kidneys. And also marked amyloid degeneration of the glomerular tufts are proved in three cases, in which the antigen were continuously injected for the longest duration. (2) Masson bodies were observed in the lungs of four cases. (3) Periarteritis nodosa is proved in five cases. All of the above described findings mean the allergic changes of the peripheral vessels and its perivascular connective tissues, therefore, streptococcal allergy is affirmed to play the chief role in this experiment.
