In one of our papers we have reported the study on the formation of group specific antibodies of two types by immunization with red blood cells. It is now known that it gives in human normal isoagglutinins a portion which can not be absorbed by saliva of the corresponding group. In the present paper we report the results of examination performed to learn in animal sera how normal group specific antibodies behave in this respect. 1) Anti-A-agglutinins contained in normal serum of rabbits, dogs, sheep, and pigs could be absorbed with human saliva of group AS completely in all cases examined. 2) Anti-O-agglutinins in normal fowl serum were also absorbed by human saliva OS completely. 3) Anti-O-agglutinins contained in eel serum were generally of considerably high titres and appeared at the outset difficult to absorb by human saliva, but after all, evidence was given that they are also in nature absorbable by antigen in saliva. Namely, a complete absorption was seen, when a extraordinarily large dose of saliva or salive in a high concentrated state was employed.
