In order to evaluate the antirachitic effects of a combination of vitamin D, parotin and citric acid, dynamic investigations were carried out on the transfer of radioactive phosphorus to the bone in rats in which rickets had been developed experimentally. They were grouped into 4 categories and each group was given different treatment : no treatment was given to grop 1 which was used as control; vitamin D was administered to group 2; vitamin D and parotin were administered to group 3; and vitamin D, parotin and citric acid were administered to group 4. Investigation of the amount of P^<32> transferred to the epiphysis and diaphysis of the femur has demonstrated that, in P^<32>% dose as well as specific activity, group 4 manifested the greatest increase, followed by groups 3, 2 and 1 in that order. It has also been demonstrated that the increase in P^<32>% dose as well as specific activity was larger in the epiphysis than that in the diaphysis. Thisis taken as an indication that the mechanism of ossification in the cartilage has come to work vigorously.
