The histamine content in blood and tissues were estimated by using guinea pigs ileum and the relation between autonomic nervous system to the histamine content in blood and tissues was shown under the various experimental conditions. 1. The histamine content in blood of normal rabbit averaged 1.37 ± 0.17 γ/cc. 2. Electric stimulation of cervical sympathetic nerve induced increasing effect to the histamine content in blood. 3 In a high concentration of epinephrine injection induced increasing effect to the histamine content in blood. 4. After resection of the superior cervical ganglion, epinephrine injection induced decreasing effect to the histamine content in blood. 5. Stimulation of cervical vagal nerve induced marked increasing effect to the histamine content in blood. 6. Soon after injection of acetylcholine induced increasing effect to the histamine content in tissues but on the other hand, the histamine content in blood was showing firstly a slight decrease and then gradual increase. 7. Treatment of 5 % procaine on carotid sinus caused. 'increase of the histamine content in blood. 8. Half or total adrenalectomy induced increase of the histamine content in blood and ileum. 9. Splanchnectomy caused gradual increase of the histamine content in blood. 10. Adrenaline injection to the adrenalectomized animals caused some marked effect to the histamine content in blood. 11. Acetylcholine injection to the adrenalectomized animals caused marked increase to the histamine content in blood. 12. Intravenous injection of histamine caused slight increase of histamine in blood and daily injection of histamine induced tachyphylaxis phenomenon. 13. Histamine injection to the adrenalectomized animals caused hypersensitivity to histamine and slowed the elimination of histamine in blood and tissues. 14. Treatment with adrenal cortical hormone extract induced regulating effect on the histamine content of adrenalectomized animals and the effect of antihistaminics was not so eminent.
