Photovoltaic cells are expected to be introduced into electricity system as a dispersed power source. However, it is a serious problem that electric power perturbation of photovoltaic cells influences an entire electric power system. For this problem, it is a usual method to storage electric energy generated by storage batteries temporarily in storage battery. But, it is difficult to charge NiMH batteries from photovoltaic cells derectly with DC-DC converters, because photovoltaic cells and NiMH batteries have each the optimal operating point. Since this may drop efficency of the system, we add capacitors to circuit to prevent an efficiency decrease of the system. Capacitors can be charged and discharged rapidly, because current ratings of capacitors are higher than those of photovoltaic cells and NiMH batteries. In other words, we can charge with capacitors by the optimal operating point of photovoltaic cells. At the same time, we can charge with NiMH batteries at the optimal operating point for them. Then, we study the control method of these charge system. Especially, we study the control of the circuit for charging from capacitors into NiMH batteries.
