Photovoltaic cells are paid attention to as clean and inexhaustible energy sources. However, power of photovoltaic cells is affected by solar radiation, and solar batteries themselves do not store electric energy. It is a general method to strage electric energy generated by photovoltaic cells temporarily in storage batteries. At this time, when the storage battery is discharged, it is desirable to take out the electrical energy of photovoltaic cells. As a solution, it is possible to connect electric double layer capacitors between photovoltaic cells and storage batteries. However, it is necessary not only to connect electric double layer capacitors but also to control a circuit for charging appropriately. This study focuses on control of circuit for charging from photovoltaic cells to electric double layer capacitors. Concretely speaking, the purpose of this study is to propose a method of controlling the charge process to electric double layer capacitors by using SEPIC circuit with microcontrollers.
