Recently, the population of an area in the heart of Tokyo is increasing. Then, we are measuring the utility of the household and tried to explain this phenomenon. In particular, this study focuses on the measurement of the utility of the household within the urban economic model of household location choice. We consider the model in which the utility function of the household is specified with respect to the lot size of house, the amount of composite consumer good and the leisure time. In this model, we assume that the family structure of household is only characterized by working members and household earns fixed income. We estimated the utility of the household at the three times in 1990, 1995, and 2000. The results are followings; (1) The utility of the household which can be acquired by living in the place near center of Tokyo is higher than one which can be acquired by living in a suburb. (2) The gap of the utility of habitation in the heart of Tokyo and the utility of sub-urban habitation becomes large.
