Baopuzi (抱朴子) is one of the most reliable books that explain on mirrors of Taoism in the 4 th century A.D.. This paper aims to certify whether there are some mirrors that apply to the description of this book. I summarized the problem in the following seven points. 1. Baopuzi chap. 15 th says that there is a sky to which one will go after death. Its name is Taiqmg (太清). I think that we can find the sky on the rims of bronze mirrors with designs of divinities and animals. 2. Baopuzi chap. 4th says that there are three worlds of people (upper-midle-lower people) in the sky. We can see them on the other bronze mirrors with designs of divinities. Those figures are divided into three structures. 3. Baopuzt chap, 11th says that there are many medicines for divinities. For instance, the pine resins and the sesames and so on. We can see the sesames on the bronze mirrors. On the mirrors we can also see two monsters biting a stick, which supports the shrines of divinities. I think that the sticks are indeed the stems of the sesames. 4. Bdopuzi chap. 15th explains the way of using mirrors. The man of asceticism can see the figure of Laozi (Lao-tse) in the end of practice. We can see the figure of Laozi on the bronze mirrors. One of the features is his crown. It looks like a three-storied small pagoda, which conforms with the description of the chapter. The other book Shenxianzhuan (神仙伝) proves the feature of Laozi. 5. On the lower part of the same bronze mirror we can see some strange shapes, which look like a tortoise and a snake, which conforms with the description about the end of the earth in Baopuzi chap. 18th. We can see a hermit playing the zither on the upper part of the mirror, which conforms with the description about the musical performance of heaven in Bdopuzi. chap. 10th. 6. We can see two monsters on both sides of the center of the mirrors. Bdopuzi chap. 15th says that many monsters such as Qiongqi (窮奇) and Pixie (辟邪) will appear around the man Laozi. The features of them are described in the other books. Therefore, we can understand that two monsters on each mirrors are Qiongqi and Pixie. 7. We can see two divinities, Xiwangmu (西王母) and Dongwang-fu (東王父) on both sides of the middle of the mirrors. We can also see a crown shaped like a horn on the head of Xiwangmu. The description on a crown shaped like a horn can be found in another book, Hanwudineizhuan (漢武帝内伝), which belongs to the same group of Baopuzi.
