The Japanese universities are forced to a reform in the education service to be competitive with foreign universities in the global higher education market. There are two directions in the reform, one is recurrent education and the other is internationalization. Concerning the recurrent or life-long education an innovation is necessary in the education system to provide the students with dynamic knowledge which will be able to increase for itself in later life. Such dynamic knowledge will be made available by combined supply of conceptual knowledge with critical thinking methods. Ritukeiman University built Ritumeikan Asia-Pacific University (APU) in north Kyushu in 2000 with a view to carrying out global education for not only Japanese but foreign students, esp. from Asian countries. They provide the two language system (Japanese and English) and a critical thinking education at their multi-cultural campus, which receives a good reputation.
