In 1979, Chinese Government introduced Market Economy into the framework of Socialism. The general principles of socialism do not uphold the concept of private-ownership, while the market economy is based on private-ownership. Chinese Government has maintained socialism and has also given corporate directors certain autonomous rights to sell properties, based on the concept of the corporate property right. However, in many corporations, quite a few directors dispose or sell national properties in a very discretional manner. As such, "directors' control" of corporations in China has been producing serious problems. Currently, neutral accountants appointed by government are working for resolving these problems. The effectiveness of such measures and the legitimacy of the present government policy that is supposed to prevent the unfair or corrupted loss of national properties are dubious. Alternatives to this auditing system are suggested, as ways of corporate governance.
