• In recent years, consideration of compilation of history books is getting popular. Miura Sukeyuki, who is a researcher of the ancient literature, published Kojiki no Himitsu. (The Secret of Kojiki) It tells not only Kojiki's but also the formation of Japanese history books generally and shows an interesting and daring contention from the viewpoint of historical science. In this essay, the formation of Japanese history books is considered through original critique and study of the book from the point of view of historical science. It is expected to develop cooperative research between historical science and Japanese literature in the future.
