The author attaches an importance to the history and dimension from a geological viewpoint, concerning consideration of geotechnical disasters. In this paper, liquefaction and landslide were discussed as case studies of the geotechnical disasters. Many examples that the liquefaction had repeated could be confirmed in archaeological sites. It suggests that it is unable to secure "the immunity of liquefaction" in the natural ground. It is considered that many landslides have a multiple structure, such as mother (primary), daughter (secondary) and granddaughter (thirdly). Most of mother and daughter landslides are dormant or stop their activity. Whilst the granddaughter is active along the fracture zone of the mother and daughter landslides.
