Morphotropic phase boundary in (1-x)Bi(Sc_<0.5>In_<0.5>)O_3-xPbTiO_3 (x=0.45-0.50) piezoelectric ceramics was investigated in this study. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis showed that a morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) with the coexistence of the rhombohedral tetragonal was in the vicinity of x=0.47. In addition, the Ferro-piezoelectric properties of this system were also investigated. Through electrical measurement, the composition at x=0.47 close to MPB exhibited excellent piezoelectric properties with T_c=394℃, d_<33>=324pC/N, K_p=0.51, and P_r=23.6μC/cm^2 and E_c=2.08kV/mm, indicative of a future device application.
