In Japanese college educational system, it is common to have one subject taught only once a week. However, it is obvious that students forget 70% of what they have learned when they come back to the class the next week. What is the effective way of preventing students from forgetting what they have learned? Referring to Ebbinghaus' Forgetting Curve, we have developed a system that the student will have several chances in between the classes to be reminded of what they have learned before they forget. That is, through internet, the students will get access to a server from which their review materials are stored and will download them to their home computers and do their assignments. The teacher can keep some supplementary works in his/her file and ask the students to submit their assignments back to the teacher's file in the server several times before they come to the next class. Evaluation for each student's assignment can be done and preserved in the teacher's file. At the same time, direct communication between the teacher and the student will be possible through internet. By this new e-learning system, "once a week class system" can be changed to a "plural numbers of classes in a week." Naturally, that will improve the students' learning results without increasing the number of classes.
