The purpose of this study was to develop an analyzing system for basketball games by using a personal computer. This system aimed to: (1) give complete game analyses of the first half of a game during the half-time intermission; (2) produce a game analyses table in order to make possible adjustments in team strategy for the. second half; and (3) use the obtained information for further game analyses after the game. The following points were taken into consideration in this system in order to conduct the analyses on the basketball court: 1. Development of an analyzing program which could be used in a personal computer and be used while moving and/or running. 2. Development of a program which quickly puts out a lot of useful information within a limited time. 3. Development of a program in which the game information could be easily put in, and that has functions to protect against faulty inputs. 4. Development of a program which could be used in many different types of computers due to the wide variety of computers. In regards to point 4, the micro-soft BASIC type was used as the computer language in this system so that it would be possible to expand and improve this system.
