原著Original国立情報学研究所で電子化In a faculty development study based on the Model United Nations (MUN), we learned the following: Having students participate in "International Education" and "Development Education" activities before their participation in the MUN makes the MUN activities more effective and valuable. Using English MUN Security Council discussions in a freshman course is effective and valuable. Making students responsible for preparing all documents and carrying out necessary research for the meetings has good educational value. When students work together as a group to represent one country they learn not only about the country they are representing, but also about other countries. On the other hand, when only one student represents a country they pay greater attention to that country and learn more about it than they would if they had worked in a group. When students work together in a group they behave in a more active manner than when they work alone. In all, it appears that the MUN is a more effective educational tool when students work in a group. We reconfirmed that MUN activities require discussion skills and high proficiency in English. We then confirmed that making the rules simpler and combining MUN with other activities can make it a more effective educational tool.
