• This paper discusses the reconversion process of the United States economy after World War II to reexamine the basic character of the "Postwar Reforms" in Germany and Japan. Internationally, the emergence of the postwar "Pax-Americana" politico-economic regime exerted the most crucial influences on their "Postwar Reforms". In that sense, those influences, in conjunction with their endogenous conditions, determined the basic course of the postwar economic trajectory of both countries. Quite successful industrial mobilization system during the war established a "high-level capital accumulation structure" in the United States. It decisively ended the Great Depression in the 1930s. The war economy prepared the U.S. postwar corporate system in two ways. First, the war accelerated the establishment of the postwar "matured oligopoly regime" in key industries. Second, it set forth what would become the "standard" pattern in organizing labor relations in the postwar era. In addition, The experiences of large scale war-time economic controls by the government promoted the development of new techniques and mechanisms of the economic management after the war. The United Nations regime based on the "Lend-Lease" assistance prepared the postwar international frameworks, such as the IMF = Dollar system, GATT system, as well as the politico -economic assistance regime led by the United States. These elements were eventually incorporated into a "sustained economic growth" structure in the reconversion process of the U.S. economy. In short, it was the earliest formative process of the postwar "Pax Americana" capital accumulation regime of the Unitel States, which constituted determinant factors of the "Postwar Reforms" and early years of German and Japanese economic developments.
