The purpose of this study is to obtain the data for heat transfer to supercritical pressure water in vertical laminar flow. Numerical simulation taking account of a strong dependence of the variation of fluid physical properties on temperature was performed, and then following results were obtained. (1) Heat transfer coefficient shows a similar characteristic to that of thermal conductivity. (2) Heat transfer coefficient has a peak when the bulk fluid temperature is slightly below the pseudocritical temperature, although the peak can not be seen in case that the fluid physical properties are constant. (3) The peak of heat transfer coefficient appears at lower bulk fluid temperature and becomes higher as the heat flux increases, due to the variations of thermal conductivity and isobaric specific heat.
