An unfinished work of the Marshallian Representative Firm, over which a heated controverry was held between P. Sraffa and A. C. Pigou, L. Robbins and D. Robertson and G. F. Shove in 1920's and 30s, remains without losing its value. There are some contributions done by recent studies, D. C. Hague, J. N. Wolfe, P. Newman and etc.. One purpose of this paper is to develop these recent studies adding some contribution to them. At First, we will try to show the Marshallian definition of market stands just on the side of the perfect free market on its borderline with the imperfect special market. Next, the reason of this will be sought from the possibility of variation among cost structure of all firms inspite of their quoting the same price in the market as far as they are in an industry. Lastly, working on the line of Dr. R. Frisch interpretation, we will try to find how the movement of price does influence individual firms in an industry in the long period and how this is clearly shown in the study of representative firms.
