In this paper, we propose a new positioning technique for a barcode reader system based on the visible light communication (VLC) and 6-axes sensor technologies, and introduce the results of the fundamental experiments. The position of a barcode reader is calculated from the angle of VLC receiver measured by 6-axes sensor and the information of VLC light source position.
