Eight healthy male subjects were divided into 2 groups and given 200mg of d-α-tocopheryl acetate oil and 400mg of d-α-tocopheryl acetate 50% emulsion powder, respectively, after breakfast. In addition, 4 healthy male subjects were given 400mg of d-α-tocopheryl acetate 50% emulsion powder under fasting conditions. Mean of the area under the curve of exogenous d-α-tocopherol level in plasma after the emulsion powder administration is equivalent to that after the oil administration. Mean peak levels after the emulsion powder administration are slightly lower than those after the oil administration. There was no absorption observed for the d-α-tocopheryl acetate emulsion powder administered group under fasting conditions. Based on the present, the emulsion powder of d-α-tocopheryl acetate which we used in this evaluation is considered as a useful preparation.
