This paper examines the effect of an increase in gate revenue sharing within the framework of the Contest Model, which was extended to reflect the Uncertainty of Outcome Hypothesis(UOH) by Yane and Okamura (2007). In this new framework, while there is continuing support for the finding of Szymanski and Kesenne(2004) that strengthening gate revenue sharing will worsen the competitive balance and decrease the overall amount of talent, there is also an indication that a rise in the UOH parameter results in an opposite effect. As a result, introducing the UOH is expected to improve competitive balance in the Nash equilibrium and moderate the deterioration of compettive balance caused by strengthened revenue sharing.
