The blood sugar content was investigated after injection of adrenalin, morphin, insulin and glucose in rabbits which had an abnormal testicular function. Experimental Precedure. In this experiment, total by orchidectomized adult white rabbits (for testicular hypofunction), testicle transplanted rabbits and androstin injected rabbits (for testicular hyperfunction) were used. After 2-9 weeks of treatment, 4 kinds of reagents were injected separately into rabbits of both groups, the dosage per kilogram body weight as follows; 1. 1/10000 adrenalin Hydrochloride sol. 0.5 c.c. (I.V.) 2. Insulin. 0.5 unit, (I.V.) 3. 1.0% morphin hydrochloride sol. 1.0 c.c. (hypodermic.) 4. 20.0% glucose sol. 5.0 c.c. (I.V.) After injection, the blood sugar was measured by Hagedorn- Jansen's method hourly or daily. Experimental Results. 1) After injection of adrenalin, hyperglycaemia was rather high in the animals with testicular hypofunction, but on the other hand, it was lower in those with hyperfunction. 2) After injection of morphin, hyperglycaemia was noted rather lower in those rabbits with hypofunctioning testicular hormone. On the other hand, it appeared to be high in animals with hyperfunction. 3) After injection of insulin, hypoglycaemia tended to be less marked in the hyperfunctioning rabbits' testicle. 4) Hyperglycaemia after intravenous injection of glucose showed no remark- able change in the hypofunctioning rabbits, but there was a tendency to increase in the hyperfunctioning rabbits' testicle.
