The author made 88 intravesical pressure determinations on 77 clinical cases by fractional instillations with the cystometer using the mercury manometer as reported in the author's first report. From this investigation, the author believes that the practical diagnostic value of cystometry as a guide in the diagnosis of the neurogenic bladder and its therapy, in surgery of the bladder and neurosurgery of the bladder is one which, cannot be obtained by the cystoscope or other means and ways. However in the interpretation of the cystometrogram, close consideration should be given to various neurological examinations, urological examinations, especially cystoscopic examinations. If the principles for the interpretation of the cystometrogram can be placed on a firm basis by further study of the physiology of micturition by cystometry together with the study of the physiology and anatomy of the bladder, the author. believes that its field of application will not be restricted to urology but will find its way into the field of neuro-surgery and also internal medicine.
