This paper presents a numerical method that can make predictions of periodic, unsteady flow within an axial turbine stator/rotor stage. A higher-order turbulence closure model was employed and was formulated in the body-fitted curvilinear coordinates. A model that takes into account vibrational effects on a rotor blade is demonstrated. The reliability of the computed results is verified by comparing the computed pressure coefficients with published experimental data along the walls of stator and rotor airfoils.
