The fan stages cropping scheme was proposed for the initial stage of development of the marinization of aero-turbofan engines. The research work involved cropping of fan stages, removing of the last stage of the turbine and adjusting of the guide vane throat area of the remaining turbine stages and the jet nozzle area. It was also proposed to carry out cropped fan stages performance test together with engine test. The gas power of modified gas generator reached over 16200kw with a fuel consumption of less than 0.27kg/gas kw.hr. The present paper is intended to describe our work briefly and is divided into 4 parts. The first two parts deal with the theoretical investigation and calculation method for determination of flow passage size of cropped fan stages. The last two parts describe the experimental method and its results.
