Tests necessary for the cooling design of the endwall of the first-stage stationary vanes of the high-pressure turbine (HPT) of the AGTJ-100B were conducted, comprising an evaluation of the heat transfer coefficient of the endwall and film cooling effectiveness due to sealing air. The tests were performed using annular cascade test equipment in which vanes similar to but one and a half times as large as the first-stage stationary vanes of the HPT of the AGTJ-100A were embedded, and using a lower outlet Mach number than in actual operating conditions. This paper describes a study of the heat transfer coefficient distribution on the endwall, comparing the measured results obtained with the predicted values, and investigates the distribution of film cooling effectiveness and its relationship to the flow rate ratio. In addition, the results of investigation of the influence of endwall film cooling air on aerodynamic performance are also shown.
