The work considers the optimisation of cardiovascular stents implanted to control stenosis and subsequent restenosis. Three different testcases are taken up. The first one optimises the stent parameters from the point of view of undesirable pressure wave reflections. For this an one-dimensional flow model is used. The testcase two is two-dimensional, axisymmetric and has stents of circular cross section. As the objective function a composite expression consisting of recirculation lengths and shear stresses is used. The third testcase is similar but has stents of rectangular cross section. Two objective functions are derived based on integrated vorticity and shear stresses and a Pareto Front is generated. It is established that the cardiovascular stents maybe optimised efficiently using the techniques employed.
