This paper proposes a new methodology that supports to create product structure to reduce part-cost and assembly-cost. It consists of three components ; (1) analyzing structure and assembly operation of the product, (2) supporting to choose the element to improve structure, (3) supporting to create solution to reduce part-cost and assembly-cost. The first component analyzes parts, functions, attributes, assembly-operations and assembly-attributes. The second component identifies parts, functions and attributes to improve structure for part-cost reduction, and identifies parts, assembly-operations and assembly-attributes to improve structure for assembly-cost reduction. The third component provides the guidelines for creating the solutions.
