In material engineering, it is widely recognized that deformation/fracture (D/F) characteristics is essential because these characteristics prove whether or not the materials can be used safely. Until now, all D/F characteristic analysis methods have been limited on the surface indirectly. D/F characteristics are affected by micro scale structural features such as air bubbles (pores), particles and cracks. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze D/F characteristics inside the materials on nano-order. In this paper, we propose a 3D, local, and high-accuracy D/F characteristics analysis system. Our system is consisted of (1) Pore extraction from nanoscopic 3D-CT material images between deformations, (2) Feature quantities calculation of extracted pores, (3) Pore matching between the pre-D/F and the post-D/F to take the movements of pores and (4) 3D strain distribution obtaining, which estimates the D/F characteristics. Some experiments proved its effectiveness.
