We investigate dependence of photo-isomerization compositions on the time interval of a femtosecond phase-locked pulse pair used for excitation. The compositions were analyzed directly by high-per-formance liquid chromatograpy. Coherent enhancement of the isomerization from all-trans to 13- and 9-cis retinals was observed via the two-photon excited Ag state. We determined the dephasing time of the excited-state wave-packets to be less than 80fs.
