• A brief account of research in our laboratory on the mechanism of the cross incompatibility between evergreen azalea species and yellow flowered deciduous azalea, Rhododendron japonicum form flavum, i.e. mechanism of unilateral cross incompatibility and albino progenies appearance, is given.
