This paper is the last in the series of study on Zhu Dao-sheng's interpretation of shi(実)and shixiang(実相). The previous papers which appeared in number two and three of this Journal of ICABS discussed and elucidated the meanings of shi and shixiang. The conclusion was that whenever shi or shixiang was employed in a Buddhological sense, it meant 'Buddha's wisdom.' They were used in a unique and characteristic manner in Dao-sheng's Commentary on the Chinese version of the Lotus Sutra. This conclusion left zhufa(諸法)as a subject to be clarified in this current paper. By surveying and comparing the related texts of the Commentary, a conclusion can be reached that zhufa, when used in close relation with shixiang, means "all kinds of meritorious actions." The meaning of zhufa shixiang which also appears in the Lotus Sutra, therefore, is thought by Zhu Dao-sheng to be "all kinds of meritorious actions that enable one to reach the Buddha's wisdom." Considering Dao-sheng's close relationship with Kumarajiva, who is considered a great master of Buddhism in northwest India and Central Asia, Dao-sheng's interpretation of zhufa shixiang may well reflect the original idea of the Lotus Sutra and would seem to fit better into the overall structure of the Chinese version of the Lotus Sutra.
