We can expect 180 degree turn from rejection of oneself to acceptance of oneself as he or she is by Naikan or Morita therapy. This kind of revolutionary change of mind structure is realized through the experience of absolute reliance on power of other (deeply love of mother) by Naikan and the experience of losing oneself (becoming one with object or environment) by Morita therapy. The Oriental idea of "Mu" (no self) is not existence in Western idea. Concerning the relation of subjectivity and objectivity, and also the nature of Oriental self and Western self, there is fundamental difference between Oriental thought (Nisida's philosophy, Buddhism) and Western thought (Husserl's phenomenology, Christianity). Identity of Japanese self has been unsteadied by Americanizing of social systems in Japan. Therefore, it is very important to fully recognize about Oriental self.
