A triangulation G of a closed surface is said to be κ-loosely tight if for any surjective assignment f : V (G) {1, 2, …, 3+κ}, there is a face of G whose three vertices f assigns three distinct numbers to. The looseness ζ (G) is the minimum value κ such that G is κ-loosely tight. We shall give various arguments on the loosely-tightness and the looseness ζ (G) of triangulations of closed surfaces.
