A case of arterivenous malformation of the kidney is reported. A 31-year female visted our hospital because of total, gross hematusria and lumbago. The day before admission the flank pain became more severe. The IVP showed right renal pelvis and calyces visualizing poorly. The contralateral kidney was normal. The RP demonstrated continuous filling defects in the renal pelvis and ureter caused by impaction of blood coagula. The renal angiography disclosed a cluster of small, tortuous, dilated vessels of the right kidney with early filling of right renal vein and inferior vena cava. A diagnosis of renal arteriovenous malformation was made and nephrectomy was performed. Histologic examination revealed peripelvic vascular malformation. This is the 67th case of renal A-V malformation in Japan.
