The warehouses are remarkable located in the Fukuoka city and its environs : they are concentrated in the three areas such as its port, inland and peripheral areas, followed by the Kitakyushu city where no concentration is found in the other areas, than its port areas. Operators are mainly transport companies and makers or manufacturers in the case of the Fukuoka city and its environs, while their counterparts in the Kitakyushu city and its environs are transport and port transport industries. The warehouses are mainly of inland and port areas type in the Fukuoka city and its environs, while the port areas type takes a large share in the Kitakyushu city and Its environs. There characteristics of the warehouses reflect difference in urban function between the two cities.
