The purpose of the study is to clarify the meaning of the word "Gottliche" in Goethe's Faust II, Act 3, line 9345. There Faust commands Lynceus to prepare the reception for Helena. The expression "Gottliche" is heard in this command. Most of Japanese translators of the scene understand the word to mean Helena. But does this adjective-substantive really mean Helena? The answer is `No'. If Faust means Helena by it, he should say "die Gottliche". The reason for it is explained in the previous study, "Gottliche and Helena, Part 1", in detail. If Gottliche does not mean Helena, who is meant by the word? To answer this question we must know what kind of effects the omission of the article has. The present study makes clear the uses of a noun without article with the aid of the grammar book written by Tsugio Sekiguchi. The author concludes that "Gottliche" in this case is the emphatic expression meaning the existence of god-like creatures.
