• The human-animal bond is and has been the central topic in the animal-related fields. Recent surveys and business reports, in addition to what is seen and discussed around us, clearly reveal the strong and ever growing interest and concern over pets. The bond is a popular term which has been used to refer to the attachments and relationships that exist between people and their pets. However, a clear definition and a full understanding of the expression continue to elude us. As we "bond" ourselves to our pets, as we increase their dependency on us for all their needs - both physical and mental - it's important that we recognize that the attachment we form with our pets has two sides and so does a bond:this end and the other end.
