The theme of the festival was "Life : POP ART 2006." Through every day fashion, hair style, photography, live painting, music and cuisine, the purpose was to perform a review of our daily lifestyles. These exhibits can be seen as communication media. The primary organizers of the event were owners of a women's fashion shop, a.cafeteria and a lifestyle goods outlet in the central shopping district of Nagasaki. At the event people with differing views and skills exhibited their creations. Participants trained in New York, London, Osaka and Tokyo, were amongst those exhibiting. These individuals gathered in one place to present their work with the intention of generating new styles and communicating new ideas. Students of the local university and polytechnics also exhibited their work. Many volunteers assisted in event planning and execution. Ultimately the event attracted approximately 100 visitors from a wide range of ages. This shows that interest in an exhibition of youth culture can bridge generations. Young people from the prosperous and peaceful society that is present day Japan, are as a group, setting their life goals away from status and money, in favor of aesthetics and sensuality. It is suggested that to bring this new culture forward, this event should be popularized and held regularly.
