This paper investigates Japanese-English bilingual children's code-switching in -suru compounding. In the bilingual children's utterances, -suru in code-switching compounds is regarded as a bound verb-ending suffix marking properties. An English.verbal base can be lexically used in -suru compounding. Bilingual -suru compounding occurs with single verbs or phrasal verbs (e.g. marry-suru, mix.up-suru) as well as verbal nouns (e.g. kekkon-suru) of different origins to create a new verb, while in monolingual Japanese -suru compounding occurs only with verbal nouns. Child code-switching is not imperfect learning but shows how children generalize their two languages morphologically in terms of productivity in language contact.
