The various measurements were performed on 10 cerebra of the pangolin (Manis pentadactyla Linnaeus), and their cerebral sulci and gyri were investigated by observing them from the dorsal, lateral, medial, ventral and posterior aspects. The following is the result thus obtained. 1) The means and standard deviations (M±SD) of the measured value of the cerebral length, breadth, height and weight were 26.6±1.6mm, 31.5±1.9mm, 24.3±1.8mm and 12.3±2.0g respectively. 2) The following sulci and gyri were observable on the surface of the cerebrum. The cerebral sulci : 1. Fissura rhinalis, 2. Sulcus lateralis (Sulcus sagittalis), 3. Sulcus supraorbitalis, 4. Sulcus Sylvii, 5. Sulcus supra-Sylvii, 6. Sulrus corporis callosi, 7. Sulcus splenialis (Sulcus cinguli), 8. Sulcus genualis, 9. Sulcus pre-Sylvii (Sulcus orbitalis), 10. Sulcus parolfactorius anterior, 11. Sulcus parolfactorius posterior, 12. Fissura rhinalis arcuata, 13. Fissura endo-rhinalis, 14. Fissura pre-optica, 15. Fissura di-telencephalica. The cerebral gyri : 1. Gyrus lateralis, 2. Gyrus supra-Sylvii, 3. Gyrus Sylvii,4. Gyrus supra-splenialis, 5. Gyrus cinguli, 6. Gyrus para-splenialis, 7. Gyrus subcallosus, 8. Gyrus parolfactorius, 9. Lobus pyriformis (Area pyriformis). 3) As for the relation between the sulcus supra-orbitalis and sulcus supra-Sylvii as well as between the sulcus supra-orbitalis and sulcus lateralis, the type in which sulcus supra-orbitalis and sulcus supra-Sylvii is not connected but sulcus lateralis and sulcus supra-orbitalis is connected is most commonly observable. 4) As for the relation between the sulcus genualis and sulcus corporis callosi, as well as between the sulcus genualis and sulcus splenialis, the type in which sulcus corporis callosi and sulcus genualis is connected but sulcus splenialis and sulcus genualis is not connected is most commonly observable.
